The Midwest Conference released its 2015 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday and defending champion Lake Forest College was at the top of the list. The Foresters graduated just one player after posting a 21-1-0 record and claiming the league's regular season and tournament titles a year ago.

Voting is done by the MWC head women's soccer coaches. Each coach votes for the ten other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (ten points for first, nine for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams. The Foresters earned the maximum number of points possible (100).

Lake Forest will begin the 2015 regular season by hosting Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday, September 1, at 5:00 p.m. Defense of the Foresters' conference championship will start when the team opens league play at Ripon College on Saturday, September 19.

The first-place team in the regular season standings will earn the conference title and the right to host the four-team MWC Tournament, which will be played November 6-7. The tournament champion will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, which will begin on November 14.

The Foresters won all 18 of their regular season games a year ago, including 10 in MWC play to finish atop the standings and claim the fifth league title in team history. They added a pair of victories at home in the MWC Tournament and one more in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. An overtime loss in the second round finally ended a record-breaking season that included the most wins (21) and goals (78) in program history.

Lake Forest was ranked as high as 10th in the nation in 2014 and was listed 14th in this year's National Soccer Coaches Association of America Preseason Poll.
