Victory at Wisconsin Lutheran Lifts Foresters to 5-0-0

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team recorded a 4-0 victory at Wisconsin Lutheran College Thursday night to remain perfect through five games this season. Junior Holly Lesperance scored the Foresters' first goal just 67 seconds in to the contest.

Lesperance tied Jackie Berthiaume (1994-96) for 10th place in program history with her 29th career goal and surpassed Aviva Landin (2000-03) and Tany Lopez (2002-05) and moved into 12th place in team annals with 72 career points. Her third goal this season was assisted by sophomore Nina Perkkio.

Junior Michelle Greeneway doubled the visitors' lead at the 23:58 mark with sophomore Katelyn Hronek picking up the assist.

Lake Forest out-shot the Warriors 7-3 in the opening half and 14-4 in the final 45 minutes.

The Foresters' third goal of the game was scored by sophomore Kyle Chavarria at 60:35. Her second score of the season was assisted by Greeneway and senior Michele Giurovici. Greeneway then closed out the scoring less than five minutes later with her team-high eighth goal of the year. She was assisted by freshman Kayla Wuest.

Lake Forest sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Kirsch made four saves, including three in the second half, for her first career shutout. She is now 3-0-0 on the season with a 0.67 goals against average.

The loss dropped Wisconsin Lutheran to 2-1-2.

The Foresters will put their 5-0-0 record on the line at Edgewood College on Sunday. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m.
