Foresters Fall in Overtime at Carroll

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was edged out 2-1 in overtime at Carroll University Thursday night. Forester sophomore Michelle Greeneway scored to tie the score early in the second half but the visitors were unable to hold off the Pioneers in the extra period.

Carroll took the early lead just five minutes and eight seconds into the contest and outshot the Foresters 6-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Greeneway's unassisted goal, her team-high 11th score of the season, tied the score at the 54:07 mark. Lake Forest had a 7-3 edge in shots in the second half. The visitors also had a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal in the game.

The game-winner was scored three minutes and nine seconds into overtime.

The loss drops Lake Forest's overall record to 8-4-0 and Midwest Conference mark to 3-2-0. Carroll evened its overall record at 6-6-0 and matched the Foresters' 3-2-0 mark in league play.

Lake Forest will look to rebound against visiting Beloit College Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
