Foresters Rout Wisconsin Lutheran College 6-0

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team scored three times in each half of its 6-0 triumph over visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday. A pair of goalies shared the shutout and two freshmen scored their first career goals.

Sophomore Holly Lesperance began the scoring barrage with her first goal of the season at 21:40. Freshman Nina Perkkio earned as assist on the play, one of three for her on the day.

Freshman Amy Sherman netted her first career goal at 31:12 and classmate Lindsay Hartup accomplished the same feat at 34:10. Sophomore Katie Koenig assisted on Sherman's score and Hartup was set up by Lesperance and Perkkio.

Senior goalkeeper Maeve Connelly held the Warriors scoreless for the first half and freshman Caroline Kirsch played in goal for the final 45 minutes and finished off the shutout.

All three goals in the second half were scored by sophomore Michelle Greeneway, who leads the team with four scores this season. She had an unassisted score at 52:47 and was assisted by sophomore Fiona Jessup at 72:10 and Perkkio at 75:32. It was the second three-goal game of Greeneway's career and her 48 career points in just 23 games are tied for 20th in program history.

Lake Forest is now 2-0-0 this season while Wisconsin Lutheran fell to 2-1-0.

The Foresters will play their first road game of the season Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at Concordia University Wisconsin.
