Lake Forest unable to Hold Early Lead at Ripon

The Forester women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Ripon College on Saturday. Lake Forest freshman Audra Donnelly scored her first career goal in the contest.

Donnelly scored in the 24th minute and the Foresters held onto the lead for the rest of the half, despite being out-shot 10-7 in the period.

Ripon tied the score three-and-a-half minutes into the second half and then kicked in the game-winner with just 7:15 on the clock.

The home team had a 12-8 edge in shot in the final 45 minutes. Lake Forest had seven corner kick chances in the game, one more than the Red Hawks.

Forester junior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger recorded a career-high 13 saves in the contest.

Lake Forest is now 6-9-0 overall and 2-4-0 in Midwest Conference games this season. Ripon raised its overall record to 7-8-1 and league mark to 4-2-1.

The Foresters will continue conference play tomorrow at Lawrence University. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
