Foresters 2-0-0 in MWC after Blanking Illinois College

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team defeated visiting Illinois College 2-0 on Saturday to raise its overall record to 6-2-0 and Midwest Conference mark to 2-0-0. It was the 10th career shutout for junior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger.

Schleibinger recorded two saves in each half and improved her goals against average on the season to 0.88.

After out-shooting the Lady Blues 6-2 during a scoreless first half, the Foresters finally got on the scoreboard just four-and-a-half minutes into the second. Senior Isabel Brown took a pass from freshman Charlotte deTar and kicked it past the Illinois College goalie for her second goal of the season. It also turned out to be her second career game-winning goal with the first also coming against Illinois College in 2008.

Forester sophomore Courtenay Raymond then received a corner kick from Brown and scored for the fourth time this year at 55:21.

The home team had a 6-5 advantage on shots in the second half and held on for the victory.

Lake Forest will host North Central College Tuesday afternoon at 4:30.
