Lake Forest Pulls Away in Second Half against Illinois College

The Foresters women's soccer team prevailed 5-2 over visiting Illinois College on Saturday. Lake Forest sophomore Becky Esrock scored three goals for her second hat trick of the season and fifth of her career.

Esrock started the scoring in the ninth minute when she got her foot on a corner kick from senior Bianca Greene and sent it past the Lady Blue goalkeeper. After Illinois College tied the score at the 12:40 mark, Esrock struck again at 23:33 with Greene earning another assist, her team-high eighth of the season.

Freshman Courtenay Raymond finished off the Forester first-half scoring at the 37:38 mark. He fourth goal of the year was assisted by sophomore Amanda Greco. The Lady Blues pulled back to within a goal hyst 83 seconds later and Lake Forest still led 3-2 at halftime.

Forester sophomore Lisa Sorensen set up Esrock's third goal of the game and team-high 13th of 2010 at the 67:20 mark. Less than two full seasons into her career, Esrock is already tied for fifth in program history with 33 goals and ranks eighth with 79 points.

Sophomore Olivia Davis closed out the scoring at the 73:28 mark with Greco earning her second assist of the contest. Is was the second goal of the year for Davis.

Lake Forest sophomore goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger earned the victory for Lake Forest.

The Foresters are now 11-6-0 overall and 7-1-0 in Midwest Conference play this season. Their victory on Saturday clinches the #2 seed in next weekend's conference tournament at Carroll University.
