Foresters' Fast Start Erased Quickly in Loss to Carroll

The Lake Forest College women's soccer team fell 2-1 to visiting Carroll University on Friday. Sophomore Amanda Greco scored the Foresters' only goal just 23 seconds into the contest.

A throw-in by Lake Forest sophomore Becky Esrock reached Greco, who settled the ball and then sent it past the Carroll goalkeeper to give the Foresters the early lead. It was Greco's second goal of the season.

Carroll recovered quickly, however, and tied the score at the 2:15 mark. The Lady Pioneers then found the back of the net again at 3:43 with what turned out to be the final goal of the contest.

Lake Forest sophomore goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger recorded a career-high 11 saves in the contest, including eight in the second half.

The Foresters fell to 7-5-0 overall and 4-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. Carroll raised its overall record to 8-3-0 and league mark to 4-0-0.

Lake Forest's next contest will be a non-conference home game against Benedictine University next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
