Foresters Roll in Midweek MWLC Match-Up at Monmouth

The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team posted a convincing 21-2 victory at Monmouth College Tuesday night.

Sophomore Abby Meyer, who entered the contest with three goals on the season, matched her career-high with five on Tuesday. Four of them came in the first period, which ended with the visitors ahead 11-1.

There was a running clock for the rest of the game and Lake Forest added four goals in the second, one in the third, and six in the fourth.

Forester sophomore Jenna Doctor, junior Ali Graham, and sophomore Cass Barbera each had hat tricks, raising their goal totals on the season to 23, 20, and 6, respectively. Freshman Isabel Bersie scored the first two goals of her career while classmate Emma Sharp notched her fourth and fifth of the year. Sophomore Savannah Frauhiger added her ninth of the season, sophomore Krissy Kuwahara her eighth, and junior Ryleigh Nelson her 10th.

Lake Forest freshman goalie Cecilia Adams played the first three quarters and stopped five of six shots on goal in her first career victory.

Graham led all players in the game with seven draw controls.

The Foresters are now 3-6 overall this season and 2-0 in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play. Monmouth fell to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Lake Forest will host Hamline University for Parents Day on Saturday. The game will be played on Farwell Field and is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m.
