The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team earned its first victory of the season on Saturday, a 16-5 triumph at Concordia University Chicago. It was also the first win for Wei Chenh, who took over as the Foresters' head coach this year.

Sophomore Jenna Doctor led the visitors with a program record seven goals. She scored twice and classmate Savannah Frauhiger once in the first quarter, which ended with the Foresters trailing 4-3.

Lake Forest junior Ali Graham tied the score and Doctor put the Foresters on top in the second. The quarter also included senior Emma Tryder's fifth tally of the season and Doctor's fourth of the game. The visitors led 7-5 at halftime.

The Foresters dominated the second half, scoring nine times while keeping the Cougars from adding to their total at all. Freshman Shannon Gibbons put her name in the scoring column, Frauhiger netted her second of the day, and Doctor tied the school with her fifth of the game in the third.

Graham, who had three assists in the contest, started the fourth quarter scoring with her 11th goal of the spring and junior Ryleigh Nelson registered her fourth. Gibbons and Frauhiger joined Tryder with their fifth scores of the season while Doctor initially broke the program's single-game scoring record at the 8:33 mark and again with 2:08 to play in the contest. Another Forester record fell on the final goal, as it was also Nelson's fifth assist of the contest. Doctor and Nelson now have a team-high 15 goals and 12 assists, respectively.

Sophomore goalie Calliope Saban earned the victory with four saves in the first half and freshman Cecilia Adams stopped all four shots on goal she saw in the final 30 minutes.

Sophomore Krissy Kuwahara led the visitors with seven ground balls while Doctor had five to go with a team-high three caused turnovers. Fellow sophomore Abby Meyer had a game-high seven draw controls, contributing to the Foresters' 18-7 edge in that category on the day.

Lake Forest is now 1-5 and Concordia Chicago 1-4 on the season.

The Foresters will host Carthage College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
