Tough Going for Foresters at #20 Pomona-Pitzer

The Lake Forest College women's lacrosse team traveled to California for Spring Break and took on Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, the 20th-ranked team in the nation, in the rain on Tuesday.

The Sagehens controlled the game from the opening draw control, scoring twice in the first 30 seconds and 11 times in the first quarter. The home team led 18-0 at halftime and eventually finished off a 25-0 victory.

Freshman Shannon Gibbons led Lake Forest with four ground balls and shared team-high honors with junior Ali Graham with three draw controls. Senior Bliss Pekkala and junior Ryleigh Nelson each caused a pair of turnovers in the contest.

The loss was the Foresters' fifth in as many games so far this season Pomona-Pitzer improved to 8-1.

Lake Forest will be in action next at Concordia University Chicago on Saturday, March 25.
