The Forester women's lacrosse team was defeated 20-16 by visiting Calvin College on Friday.

With 36 goals between the two teams combined, it was the highest-scoring game in the short history of Lake Forest's women's lacrosse program. The flurry of goals came during snow flurries that lasted most of the contest.

Forester junior Ali Graham and sophomores Krissy Kuwahara and Jenna Doctor had three goals apiece while senior Emma Tryder and Abbey Meyer each added two tallies for the home team. Additional scores came from sophomores Cass Barbera, Ashley Carr, and Savannah Frauhiger and junior Ryleigh Nelson had three assists.

Both teams scored five goals in the first quarter and the score was tied at six two-and-a-half minutes into the second. The Knights outscored the Foresters 5-1 during the rest of the period and let 11-7 at halftime.

Lake Forest closed to within three twice in the third quarter but trailed 17-12 when it was over. The home team accounted for the first three goals in the fourth, making the score 17-15, but got no closer. Graham assisted Tryder on the game's final goal with 1:09 to play.

The Foresters fell to 0-3 on the season while Calvin evened its record at 2-2.

Lake Forest will travel to California for next week's Spring Break and play at Chapman University on Monday and Pomona-Pitzer College's on Tuesday.
