The 2012-13 season is Jen (Clouthier) Saviano’s second as a member of the Forester coaching staff. She works primarily with the team’s forwards.

Seven Forester forwards reached double figures in points in 2011-12, led by Kim Herring’s 22. Herring also became the first player in program history to surpass 100 career points. Lake Forest finished fifth in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association and 20th in the nation in scoring offense last season.

Prior to coming to Lake Forest, Saviano spent the previous two years as the head coach for the Lake Forest Academy girls hockey team. Her squad was the league’s runner-up her final season.

Saviano has also served as a youth hockey/skating instructor for several organizations since 2003, been an assistant coach for the Team Illinois U16 squad, and directed the combined girls hockey program for Lake Forest and Barrington High Schools.

As a forward for the Foresters from 2004-08, Saviano (then Clouthier) played in 83 games and finished her career with 13 goals, 17 assists, and a +15 plus/minus rating. She was a two-time member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team and is still one of just five players in program history to record as many as five points in a single game.

Saviano married her husband A.J. in the summer of 2011.
