Hannah Turnage Named NCHA Defensive Player of the Week

Lake Forest College's Hannah Turnage was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after posting pair of shutouts against Trine University last weekend.

Turnage stopped all 20 shots on goal she faced in Friday's 6-8 triumph and was a perfect 18-for-18 during Saturday's 8-0 final. The senior goaltender has now blanked three of the Foresters' last four opponents and has four shutouts on the season. She now ranks 13th in the nation with a .943 save percentage this year.

Turnage also ranks among the top goalies in program history. Saturday's victory was the 27th of her career, tying her for fourth place in team annals. She is also second with a .936 career save percentage, third with a 1.98 goals against average, and fifth with 1,412 saves.

NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league office. Turnage also earned the award once last season.
