Foresters Skate to 2-2 Tie at Castleton

The visitors scored the game's first and last goals as Lake Forest and Castleton University played to a 2-2 tie in Vermont on Tuesday.

Junior forward Danielle Selby started the scoring at the 4:54 mark of the opening period. Her second goal of the year came on a rebound after junior defenseman Grace Garby's initial shot was saved.

The score remained 1-0 until the third period. Castleton drew even at the 3:11 mark and then took the lead with 4:41 remaining.

Forester senior forward Samantha Shoebottom, who had the second assist on Selby's score, netted one of her own to tie the game at two with 2:11 on the clock. Selby started the play and found senior forward Marissa Gebauer behind the SPartan goal. Gebauer passed the puck to Shoebottom in the front of the net and she beat the goalie glove side for her fourth goal of the year.

Senior goaltender Hannah Turnage made 28 saves in the game for Lake Forest, including five in the scoreless five-minute overtime period. Her save percentage on the year remains at .934.

The Foresters are now 5-3-2 whiel Castleton is 6-6-1 on the season.

Lake Forest will continue its trip to Vermont with a game at Middlebury College, the eighth-ranked team in the nation, Wednesday night at 7:00 (ET).
