The Lake Forest College women's hockey team was edged out 3-2 at Adrian College Monday night in a match-up of the teams with the top winning percentages in the league.

Adrian took the early lead at the 12:45 mark of the opening period but the Foresters drew even at 19:29 on senior forward Emelia Edmondson's third score of the season. She was assisted by junior forward Stokli Ashcraft and senior defenseman Megan Truman.

Edmondson, who scored or assisted on all four of the team's goals at Lawrence on Saturday, extended the streak to six Lake Forest tallies when she set up junior defenseman Karya Dean at 7:20 in the second. junior Iman Shepard was also credited with an assist on the play.

The Foresters' lead was short-lived, however, as the Bulldogs tied the game at 11:42 and took the lead on a power play goal at 13:48.

Neither team was able to score again in the final 26 minutes of the contest.

Adrian outshot the Foresters 31-13 on the night.

The loss left Lake Forest with an overall record of 9-8-0 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark of 9-2-0. Adrian improved to 13-6-1 overall and 10-1-0 in the league.

The same two teams will face off again at Adrian Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 (ET).
