A pair of third period goals gave the Lake Forest College women's hockey team a 4-3 triumph at Lawrence University on Saturday.

Senior forward Emelia Edmondson contributed to all four of the Foresters' goals to double her previous career-high for points in a game. She assisted on a power play goal scored by sophomore forward Lexi Nguyen at the 11:28 mark of the opening period and added her second score of the season at 15:53.

The Vikings, however, got on the scoreboard in the final seconds of the first period, tied the game at 4:47 in the second, and converted a power play opportunity eight-and-a-half minutes later to take the lead.

Despite a 39-9 advantage in shots on goal during the first two periods, the Foresters trailed 3-2 going into the third. They added 22 more shots to Lawrence's four in the final stanza for a 61-13 edge in the contest.

Senior defenseman Megan Truman became the 16th player on the team to score this season when she tied the game at 6:58 in the third period.

Nguyen scored the game-winner with just 2:52 on the clock. Edmondson sent the puck into the offensive zone and it caromed out into the middle of the ice, enticing the Lawrence goaltender to come out to play it. Nguyen got there first, however, and slipped the puck under the goalie and into the net for her fourth goal of the year and first career game-winner.

Lake Forest improved to 9-7 overall and maintained the highest winning percentage in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association at 9-1-0 in league play. The Vikings were unable to avoid their 18th loss in as many games, including 11 league contests.

The Foresters will have just one day off before traveling to Adrian College for games Monday evening at 7:00 (ET) and Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 (ET).
