The Lake Forest College women's hockey team blanked visiting Lawrence University 6-0 Friday night with each of the goals coming from a different player.

The Foresters outshot their guests 18-4 in the opening period but the game was still scoreless after 20 minutes of play.

The shot count was even more lopsided in the second with the home team putting 22 on goal without allowing any from the Vikings. The scoreless tie finally ended at the 13:44 mark on junior forward Stokli Ashcraft's seventh score overall and team-high fourth power play goal of the season.

Lake Forest added to its lead twice in the final 30 seconds of the second. Junior defenseman Karya Dean converted another power play opportunity with 29.7 seconds remaining and senior forward Abigail Tucci found the back of the net with just 7.0 seconds on the clock. It was Dean's third goal of the year and Tucci's second.

Junior forward Marissa Gebauer, who assisted on Dean's score, netted her team-high 10th of the season at the 2:19 mark of the third period. It was Lake Forest's third power play goal of the contest and senior defenseman Olyvia Opsahl assisted on each of them, matching her career-high for assists and points in a game.

Junior forward Kelly McCullough's tally at 3:40 in the third made her the 15th Forester to score this season and senior forward Grace Black accounted for the final goal, her second of the year, at 7:08. Black was presented with the program's Ry McCarthy Award during the first intermission and then assisted on Tucci's score in the second. The two-point game was the first of her career.

Junior goaltender Hannah Turnage needed to make just 12 saves on the night to earn her second career shutout. Her save percentage on the season improved to .931 while her goals against average dropped to 2.21.

Lake Forest is now 8-7-0 overall and 8-1-0 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association while Lawrence fell to 0-17-0 overall and 0-10-0 in the league.

The same two teams will face off in Appleton, Wisconsin, Saturday evening at 5:00. No visiting team fans will be allowed to attend.
