The Forester women's hockey team put 42 shots on goal but had only one reach the back of the net in a 2-1 loss to visiting St. Norbert College Friday night.

Lake Forest outshot the visitors 13-5 in the opening period but surrendered a power play goal with 1:39 on the clock and trailed 1-0 at the first intermission.

The Green Knights committed a penalty with 30 seconds remaining in the first and it cost them 30 seconds into the second. A cross-ice pass by junior forward Marissa Gebauer found junior defenseman Karya Dean in the left circle and her shot from a sharp angle snuck past the goalie. Freshman forward Lauren Wensel also assisted on Dean's second score of the season.

St. Norbert responded less than two minutes later with the third power play goal of the contest and it turned out to be the game winner.

Despite a 42-23 edge in shots on the night, the Foresters were unable to draw even a second time and fell to 6-7-0 overall and 6-1-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Norbert also also 6-1-0 in the league and 12-4-0 overall.

The same two teams will face off again in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
