Lake Forest's 13 NCHA All-Academic Team Members Set Program Record

The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association announced the 2020-21 NCHA All-Academic Teams on Thursday and the Forester women established a new program record with 13 honorees.

To earn the award a player must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. There were a record 215 honorees spread across all of the league's women's and men's teams.

The previous high of 11 for the Forester women was set last year. The 13 honorees this season represent more than 68 percent of the 19 sophomores, juniors, and seniors on the team.

Sixteen women in the NCHA were recognized for the third consecutive season, including Lake Forest senior Annie Dalton.

Two-year honorees include Forester senior Makenzie Kamm and juniors Grace Black, Emelia Edmondson, Olyvia Opsahl, Megan Truman, and Abigail Tucci.

Junior transfer Hannah Kobienia and sophomores Stokli Ashcraft, Cagla Celik, Karya Dean, Iman Shepard, and Hannah Turnage were first-time selections.
