The Lake Forest College women's hockey team posted a 4-1 victory at Trine University on Saturday in the regular season finale for both teams.

The Foresters took the lead for good just 80 seconds into the contest. The score came from senior forward Emelia Edmondson and she was assisted by junior defenseman Rose Sperry and forward Abigail Tucci.

The visitors went on the power play a few minutes later and converted the opportunity at 4:39. It was the first goal of the season for senior defenseman Jordan Trapp and the score was set up by sophomore forward Stokli Ashcraft and senior forward Makenzie Kamm.

Lake Forest made it 2-for-2 on the power play with another score at 10:35 in the first. Trapp earned her team-high third assist of the year on the goal, which was the first of 2021 for junior defenseman Megan Truman.

The scoring pace slowed in the second with the Foresters netting the only goal of the period with 5:06 on the clock. It was the second score of the afternoon and third this season for Edmondson, who was assisted by sophomore defenseman Karya Dean and freshman defenseman Grace Garby.

Lake Forest senior Julieana Tarantino's bid for a shutout was thwarted at the 16:39 mark of the final period. She stopped 24 of 25 shots on goal in the contest and ranks 15th in the nation with a .938 save percentage on the year.

The Foresters improved to 1-5-0 this season while Trine fell to 2-10-0.

The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs will begin on Wednesday and Lake Forest will play at Adrian College, the top seed in the South Division. Game time is 7:00 p.m. (ET).
