Jacque Rogers Named Wasylik Award Winner

The Lake Forest College Athletic Department recently selected women's hockey player Jacque Rogers as the recipient of the 2020 Nicholas J. Wasylik Senior Athletic Award.

The Wasylik Award was created and endowed in 1983 by Seymour H. Knox IV, a Lake Forest graduate of the Class of 1979. The award is presented to the senior athlete who best emulates the positive and outgoing attitude, as well as the drive and determination, of the College's Athletic Director from 1959 to 1973. The recipient is chosen by the Director of Athletics, in consultation with the members of the Athletic Department.

Rogers is the programs career leader with 51 victories, 22 shutouts, a .939 save percentage, and a 1.49 goals against average over the last four seasons. She also set school records with eight shutouts in 2017-18 and a .952 save percentage in 2018-19.

The five-time Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week was named All-NCHA and to the league's all-freshman team in 2017 and to the NCHA All-Academic Team each of the last three seasons. She was also selected as her team's Most Improved Player and All-Sportsmanship Team honoree as a rookie, the squad's Forester Commitment Award recipient twice, the Foresters' Ry McCarthy Award winner each of the last three years, and a team captain as a senior.

"Jacque's heart and passion for the game, and in particular Forester Hockey, have been a huge part of our success the past four years," began women's hockey coach Jennifer Wilson. "She exemplifies what it means to be a leader, friend, and teammate. She will be missed!"

Rogers is the fourth women's hockey player to earn the Wasylik Award, joining Robyn Slater '03, Melissa Paluch '16, and Amy Budde '19.

She is graduating with a degree in finance and will begin work in Chicago for the Investment Banking firm Stout in July.
