Foresters Fall to St. Scholastica in NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals

The Lake Forest College women's hockey team had its season come to an end Friday night with a 2-0 loss to the College of Scholastica in the semifinals of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs. The game was played at Adrian College.

The Saints scored both of their goals in the second period, the first on the power play at 7:18 and the second at the 13:06 mark.

The Foresters had a 45-26 advantage in shots on goal in the contest and an 18-2 edge in that category in the final period, which included three power play opportunities.

Lake Forest senior goaltender Jacque Rogers made 24 saves in the contest, stopping at least 90 percent of shots on goal for the 13th game in a row. She completed her four years at the College with the lowest career goals against average (1.49) and highest save percentage (.939) in program history.

The Foresters finished the year with an overall record of 16-11-1 while St. Scholastica moves on to Saturday's Slaats Cup final against Adrian with a mark of 15-9-4.

Friday night's contest was also the last for fellow Forester senior defenseman Julia Unterseher and forwards Lexi Morgan, Kate Fanning, Maddie Davis, Sydney Simone, and Kristina Bellomo.
