Marissa Gebauer Named NCHA Offensive Player of the Week

Lake Forest College's Marissa Gebauer was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after contributing to four of the Foresters' seven goals in a sweep of Concordia University Wisconsin over the weekend.

Gebauer accounted for her team's second and third scores in Friday's 3-2 triumph. The freshman forward broke a 1-1 tie at the 16:27 mark of the second period and then added what turned into the game-winning goal at 8:09 in the third.

Lake Forest prevailed 4-1 over the Falcons on Saturday. Gebauer earned an assist on the official game-winner mid-way through the second period and then scored her third goal of the series and eighth this season at the 6:41 mark of the third.

Gebauer has now scored at least one goal in five of the Foresters' last seven games. All of her tallies this season have been scored in league games and she ranks tied-for-fourth in the conference in goals during NCHA play.

The victories over the weekend clinched the #2 seed in the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs for the Foresters, who finished the regular season 15-9-1 overall and 12-3-1 in league play.

NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the conference office. Gebauer is the fourth Forester to earn one of the weekly awards from the league this season.
