Foresters Sweep NCHA Player of the Week Honors

After leading Lake Forest to a pair of victories over St. Norbert College over the weekend, Jordan Trapp and Jacque Rogers were named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

The Foresters began the weekend by blanking the Green Knights 5-0 on Saturday. Trapp, a junior defenseman, recorded an assist in the second period and scored a power play goal in the third. Rogers, a senior goaltender, kept the visitors off the scoreboard by stopping all 26 shots on goal she faced in the contest. It was the 20th shutout of her career, the same amount generated by the next three players on the program's all-time list combined.

Lake Forest finished off the sweep with a 4-1 triumph on Sunday. Trapp started the scoring less than four minutes into the contest and added an assist in the second period. Rogers made 25 saves in 26 chances to extend the team's winning streak to five games.

Trapp now ranks third among NCHA defensemen with a dozen points on four goals and eight assists this season. Rogers is 4-0-0 with a 0.75 goals against average and .966 save percentage in her last four appearances.

NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league office. Rogers has now earned the honor on defense five times in her career.
