Shutout of St. Norbert is Foresters' Fourth Win in a Row

Senior goaltender Jacque Rogers earned her 20th career shutout Saturday night in Lake Forest's 5-0 victory over visiting St. Norbert College.

Rogers stopped all 26 shots on goal she faced, including 15 in the second period, and improved to 6-5-0 with a .920 save percentage on the season.

The Foresters' five goals each came from a different player, beginning with sophomore defenseman Olyvia Opsahl's power play score seven minutes and 15 seconds into the game. She caromed a shot off the post and in for her third goal of the season. Senior forward Sydney Simone and freshman forward Stokli Ashcraft assisted on the only score of the opening period.

Opsahl and junior defenseman Jordan Trapp set up sophomore forward Emilia Edmondson's second goal of the season with 3:58 to play in the middle period. Simone then made it a 3-0 game on a power play goal with just four seconds on the clock. Her team-high eighth of the year was assisted by Ashcraft.

Trapp added the home team's third power play goal of the game at 10:21 in the third period. Assists on her third score of he season went to junior forward Annie Dalton and senior defenseman Julia Unterseher. Sophomore forward Grace Black then closed out the scoring exactly two minutes later with her second of the year. Freshman defenseman Karya Dean and senior forward Kristina Bellomo set up the goal.

The victory improved the Foresters' overall record on the season to 9-8-1 and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 6-2-1. St. Norbert fell to 3-13-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the league. The same two teams will face off again in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
