Foresters Defeat Aurora on the Road

Senior goaltender Jacque Rogers stopped the final 17 shots on goal she faced Tuesday night to earn a 2-1 victory at Aurora University.

The only score against Rogers came at the 2:21 mark of the opening period.

The Foresters tied the game at 8:57 on the third goal of the season by junior forward Kate Fanning, who was assisted by senior forward Sydney Simone. There was still 4:32 remaining on the first period clock when junior forward Megan Lyke netted the game-winner and matched Fanning with her third score of the year.

Lake Forest racked up 36 shots on goal to double up the home team on the night. While the visitors were unable to add to their lead, Rogers kept the Spartans off the scoreboard the rest of the way as well and raised her save percentage on the season to .910.

The Foresters improved to 6-8-1 while Aurora fell to 10-5-0.

Lake Forest will play at home this weekend for the first time since the final day of November. The Foresters will host Finlandia University Friday night at 7:00 and at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
