Senior defenseman Julia Unterseher scored for the second time this season but Lake Forest was defeated 6-1 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday.
The Foresters trailed 2-0 before Unterseher converted a power play opportunity at the 8:48 mark of the second period. She was assisted by freshman defenseman Karya Dean.
The Blugolds restored their two-goal advantage late in the second and added three more scores in the third.
Eau Claire had a 43-20 advantage in shots in the contest.
The loss dropped the Foresters' record to 5-8-1 while Eau Claire, the sixth-ranked team in the country, improved to 12-2-1.
Lake Forest will play its final non-conference game of the regular season Tuesday night at Aurora University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30.
