Lake Forest Drops Series Opener at Nation's Sixth-Ranked Team

Senior Lexi Morgan accounted for the game's first goal but it was the only score for the Foresters in Friday night's 3-1 loss at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Morgan put the visitors on top with two minutes remaining in the opening period. Her fifth score of the season and 41st of her career was assisted by junior defenseman Jordan Trapp.

The Forester lead lasted just 93 seconds as the Blugolds tied the score in the final minute of the period.

After a scoreless second stanza, the home team converted a power play opportunity for what proved to be the official game-winner at 4:20 in the third and tacked on an insurance goal with 4:20 left in the period.

Forester senior goaltender Jacque Rogers made 33 saves on the night.

The loss dropped Lake Forest's record on the season to 5-7-1 while Eau Claire, ranked sixth in this week's UCSHO.com Top 10 Poll, improved to 11-2-1. The teams will face off again Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
