Foresters Blanked by Nation's 5th-Ranked Team

Senior Jacque Rogers stopped 32 of 35 shots on goal in Lake Forest's 3-0 loss to Elmira College on Friday, day one of the Lake Forest Invite.

Rogers turned away all nine of the Soaring Eagles' shots on goal in the opening period and the first two she faced in the second.

Elmira took the lead at the 7:44 mark of the second period and added a second goal with 2:04 on the clock. The visitors put 17 shots on goal in the final 20 minutes of he contest and scored again with 13.8 seconds remaining.

The Foresters fell to 2-5-0 on the season while Elmira, the fifth-ranked team in the nation according to this week's USCHO Top 10 poll, improved to 5-1-0.

Two other ranked teams, #6 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and #10 University of St. Thomas, played to a 1-1 tie in the other game on Friday. Eau Claire and Elmira will face off Saturday afternoon at 12:30 and Lake Forest will host St. Thomas at 3:30.
