Lake Forest Falls at Aurora

Senior forward Sydney Simone's power play goal was not nearly enough as the Foresters were defeated 4-1 at Aurora University on Saturday.

Simone's score was unassisted and her first of the season. It made the score 2-1 in favor of the home team with 35 seconds remaining in the opening period.

The Spartans converted a power play opportunity of their own at the 16-minute mark of the second period and tacked on an additional insurance goal at 15:25 in the third.

The Foresters had a significant advantage in shots in the contest, putting 42 on goal while the home team managed exactly half that total.

Lake Forest is now 2-4-0 overall this season and 2-2-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. Aurora remained perfect at 8-0-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the league.

The Foresters will host a pair of non-conference games next weekend, the first against Elmira College Friday afternoon at 1:00 and the second against the University of St. Thomas Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
