Foresters Fall to St. Scholastica in Slaats Cup Semifinal

The Lake Forest College women's hockey team saw its season come to an end Friday night in a 3-0 loss to the College of St. Scholastica in the semifinal round of the 2019 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs. 

The Saints scored the first goal of the night with 2:53 to play in the opening period and doubled their lead at 13:07 in the second. The third goal came at the 6:38 mark of the third.

After being out-shot 13-7 in he game's first 2 minutes, the Foresters put 30 shots on goal to St. Scholastica's 15 the rest of the way.

The game was played at Adrian College and St. Scholastica, which improved to 21-6-1 on the year, will face Adrian in the tournament final Sunday afternoon at 2:00.

The Foresters finished the season with a record of 16-7-5. The team will lose just one player, senior forward Amy Budde, to graduation in May. Budde finished her career with 131 points, the third-highest total in program history.
