The Forester women's hockey team closed out the regular season with a 2-0 loss at the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday.

Lake Forest out-shot the home team in each period and finished the contest with a 40-29 edge in that category.

The Saints started the scoring at the 10:23 mark of the second period and tacked on an insurance goal at 12:24 in the third.

The loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 14-6-5 and they finished third in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings at 11-3-4 in the league. St. Scholastica is now 18-6-1 overall and will be the runner-up in the NCHA standings at 15-3-0 against conference foes.

Lake Forest will host Trine University in a two-game NCHA Slaats Cup quarterfinal series next weekend. Game one will begin Friday night at 7:00 with game two set to start exactly 24 hours later. Should the teams split those contests, as they did this year's regular season meetings, they would play a 20-minute minigame later Saturday night.
