Lake Forest College hockey player Lexi Morgan was voted Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead her team to a three-point weekend against visiting Adrian College, the fourth-ranked team in the nation.
Morgan scored the Foresters' first goal in each game, beginning with a tally in the second period of Friday night's 2-0 triumph. Lake Forest tacked on one more later in the frame and kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard all night, giving Morgan her fifth career game-winning goal.
The home team trailed 1-0 when Morgan struck in the second period of Saturday's 2-2 tie. She scored just nine seconds into a penalty kill for her third career shorthanded goal.
Morgan now has six goals on the season and 35 in her career.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
