Lake Forest celebrated seven goals in Friday night's shutout of visiting Aurora University and finished the fall semester with an overall record of 6-3-2.

Senior forward Amy Budde accounted for both of the scores in the opening period and completed her third career hat trick in the third. She gave the home team the lead with a 4-on-3 power play score at 6:52 with junior forward Lexi Morgan and freshman defenseman Olyvia Opsahl assisting. It was the 106th career point for Budde, breaking a tie for third place in program history with Kim Herring, who completed her four-year career in 2012. Her second score of the night came just 64 seconds later, just after the end of another power play opportunity. Opsahl earned her second assist of the night and junior forward Sydney Simone also set up the score.

After going into the locker room leading 2-0 and having out-shot the Spartans 17-1 in the game's first 20 minutes, the Foresters wasted little time adding to their lead in the second. Opsahl notched her third assist of the game on a goal by Morgan just nine seconds in and sophomore defenseman Jordan Trapp netted her second score of the season at the 45-second mark. Junior forward Kate Fanning earned one of the assists on Trapp's tally and the other went to Budde, who followed with her team-high ninth goal of the season at 3:34. Fanning recorded the second of her three assists on the night on the 49th career score for Budde.

Nearly 32 minutes of playing time passed until the Foresters added to their lead once again. Morgan scored her second goal of the evening and fourth this season at 15:23 in the third and junior defenseman Amanda Boisjolie closed out the scoring with her second of the year at 17:26. Freshman forward Grace Black recorded her first career point assisting Morgan and junior forward Kristina Bellomo also earned an assist on the play. Fanning and sophomore forward Annie Dalton set up Boisjolie.

Sophomore Julieana Tarantino started the game in goal for the Foresters and made one save in 23 minutes and 34 seconds of play while improving to 4-0-1 on the year. Freshman Samantha Stubbs made her collegiate debut once Lake Forest scored for the fifth time in the game and turned away all seven shots on goal she faced from Aurora the rest of the way.

Lake Forest had a 46-8 advantage in shots on goal on the night.

The loss dropped Aurora's record on the year to 3-7-3.

The Foresters' next game will be played at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, on Sunday, December 30 and Lake Forest will face off at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, the next day.
