Sophomore goaltender Julieana Tarantino recorded her first career shutout as the Lake Forest College women's hockey team prevailed 2-0 at Trine University on Saturday.

After stopping all 15 shots on goal she faced in the opening period, Tarantino needed just five in the second and one in the third to complete the shutout. She improved to 3-0-1 with a .922 save percentage and 1.22 goals against average on the year.

The game was scoreless until the 16:55 mark of the second period when Forester junior forward Lexi Morgan netted her second goal of the year. Freshman defenseman Olivia Opsahl assisted on what proved to be the official game-winning goal.

Lake Forest had a 28-20 edge in shots on goal during the first two periods but was still nursing a 1-0 lead with 20 minutes to play.

Junior forward Kristina Bellomo doubled the visitors' advantage just 96 seconds into the final stanza. Sophomore forward Annie Dalton and defenseman Jordan Trapp set up the insurance score, Bellomo's second of the year. The Foresters out-shot the Thunder 7-1 in the period and held on for the victory.

Lake Forest is now 5-3-1 overall and 5-1-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season. Trine fell to 5-4-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the league.

The Foresters will host a non-conference game against Aurora University Friday night at 7:00.
