Sophomore forward Megan Lyke scored one power play goal but Trine University netted a pair and defeated the Forester women's hockey team 3-2 Friday night.

Lyke's third score of the season tied the game at one at the 9:37 mark of the second period. Junior forward Maddie Davis assisted on the play.

The Thunder, who had pulled ahead early on a power play goal three-and-a-half minutes into the contest, scored again to regain the lead at 12:11 in the second and tacked on what proved to be an important insurance goal at 2:32 in the third just 10 seconds into a power play opportunity.

The Foresters closed back to within a goal at 5:14 on senior forward Amy Budde's team-high sixth score of the season. Junior defenseman Amanda Boisjolie and forward Kate Fanning set up Budde, who tied Kim Herring (2012-16) for third place in program history with 105 career points.

Despite out-shooting the home team 10-6 in the final period, Lake Forest was unable to complete the comeback and dropped to 4-3-2 overall and 4-1-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season. Trine improved to 5-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the league.

The same two teams will face off again in Angola, Indiana, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 (ET).
