Senior forward Amy Budde scored two goals and assisted on another in the second period of a 6-1 victory at Finlandia University on Saturday.

After the teams played a scoreless opening period for the second day in a row, Budde gave the visitors the lead at the 5:05 mark of the second. The score was set up by junior defenseman Amanda Boisjolie, who leads the team with five assists on the year.

Finlandia, however, tied the score just 14 seconds later.

Lake Forest took the lead for good at 8:08 on Budde's second score of the game and team-high fifth this season. She was assisted by junior forward Sydney Simone and sophomore defenseman Jordan Trapp. Trapp then scored first the first time this year to double the Forester lead at the 10:08 mark. Budde assisted on the goal to take over the team lead in points with six.

Despite their 47-15 advantage in shots on goal on the afternoon, the Foresters did not put the game out of reach until late in the third period. Junior defenseman Julia Unterseher netted her first goal of the season at the 16:42 mark and Boisjolie did the same 25 seconds later. Junior forward Maddie Davis assisted Unterseher and Boisjolie's score was set up by Simone and junior forward Kate Fanning. Boisjolie and Simone matched Budde's 2018-19 point total after giving the visitors a 5-1 lead.

Davis closed out the scoring with 64 seconds remaining on her second goal of the season. Fanning was credited with an assist on the play.

Lake Forest junior goaltender Jacque Rogers stopped 14 of 15 shots on goal to even her record on the year at 2-2-1. She also raised her save percentage to .924 and lowered her goals against average to 1.77.

The Foresters are now 4-2-2 overall and 4-0-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play while Finlandia fell to 0-7-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the league.

Lake Forest will not play over the Thanksgiving weekend and will resume NCHA play at Trine University November 30-December 1.
