Senior forward Olivia Spellmire moved into second place in program history with her 106th career point but the Lake Forest College women's hockey team was defeated 3-2 in overtime at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Friday night.

Spellmire's 13th goal of the season was unassisted and tied the score at two with 10:36 remaining in regulation.

The Blugolds, however, netted the game-winner just 76 seconds into the extra frame.

The home team also scored the first two goals of the contest, one just 92 seconds into the second period and the other at the 4:29 mark.

Lake Forest cut the deficit in half on the fourth goal of the year for sophomore forward Maddie Davis. She was assisted by freshman forward Kristina Bellomo at the 82 seconds after Eau Claire's second tally.

The Blugolds had a 16-6 advantage in shots on goal in a scoreless opening period and an 11-6 edge in the second. The home team also outshot the Foresters 6-5 in the third and had both of the game's shots on goal in overtime.

Lake Forest sophomore goaltender Jacque Rogers recorded a season-high 32 saves on the night.

The non-conference loss dropped the Foresters' overall record on the season to 9-5-0 while Eau Claire improved to 9-5-0. The same two teams will face off again Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
