Junior forward Amy Budde recorded her first career hat trick and the Lake Forest College women's hockey team posted a convincing 8-0 victory Friday night at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Budde scored the first two goals of the game late in the opening period. She was assisted by senior defenseman Caroline Campbell at the 16:27 mark and by sophomore forward Kate Fanning and freshman forward Jordan Trapp at 19:16. It was the first career point for Trapp.

The Foresters scored three more times in the second period. Freshman forward Kristina Bellomo lit the lamp at 6:47 with sophomore forward Lexi Morgan and senior forward Olivia Spellmire assisting. Freshman forward Annie Dalton and sophomore defenseman Julia Unterseher then netted power play goals at 11:25 and 16:12, respectively, to make the score 5-0. Sophomore forwards Sydey Simone and Amanda Boisjolie assisted on Dalton's score and Unterseher's was set up by Spellmire and sophomore forward Maddie Davis. They were the first career goals for Bellomo and Dalton and the first of the year for Unterseher.

The third period also included three scores overall and two on the power play for Lake Forest. Morgan accounted for both of the power play goals, one two-and-a-half minutes into the period and the other with four minutes remaining. Davis assisted on each of Morgan's first two goals of the season and Unterseher and Spellmire on one apiece. Budde completed her hat trick with an unassisted goal, her fourth score of the year, at 14:09.

Lake Forest had a significant advantage in shots on goal in each period and a 47-16 edge in the contest.

The shutout was the first of the season and the fifth in 20 career starts for Forester freshman goaltender Jacque Rogers. She stopped all 16 shots on goal she faced and evened her record on the year at 1-1-0.

It was the first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game of the year for both teams and they are each 1-2-0 overall. The Foresters and Falcons will face off again in Mequon, Wisconsin, Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
