Sophomore forward Amy Budde had a goal and an assist as the Lake Forest College women's hockey team prevailed 4-3 at College of St. Scholastica, the 10th-ranked team in the nation, Friday night.

Budde and senior forward Allie Girard assisted freshman defenseman Julie Unterseher on the game-winning goal with just 29 seconds remaining in the contest. It was Unterseher's second goal of the season and both were game-winners.

Unterseher's goal also gave freshman goaltender Jacque Rogers, who made 13 saves on the night, her first collegiate victory.

Both teams scored once in each period prior to the last-minute game-winner.

St. Scholastica got on the scoreboard first on a power play goal at the 12:18 mark of the opening period. Lake Forest then evened the score on a power play score by junior forward Amanda Brunges at 14:51. Junior forward Olivia Spellmire and defenseman Caroline Campbell assisted on the first goal of the year for Brunges.

The Foresters took the lead on Budde's second score of the season exactly two minutes into the second period. She was assisted by Campbell and freshman forward Maddie Davis. It was the second career two-point performance for Campbell. The Saints, however, pulled even at the 7:54 mark and the period ended with the game still tied at two.

The home team regained the advantage at the 12:47 mark of the final period. Lake Forest came back and tied the score again at 16:20 on the first career goal for Davis, who was assisted by fellow freshman forward Sydney Simone.

The Foresters were able to score just twice while out-shooting the Saints 26-10 during the game's first 40 minutes. The visitors then put just four shots on goal in the final period and lit the lamp on two of them. St. Scholastica had six shot on target in the game's last 20 minutes.

Both teams are now 2-1-0 on the season and will face off again on Saturday. The first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game of the season for Lake Forest will begin at 2:00 p.m.
