Women's hockey player Allie Carter was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after recording a pair of victories over visiting Marian University last weekend.

Carter, a senior goaltender, stopped 22 of 23 shots on goal in Friday's 5-1 triumph and made 22 more saves in a 5-0 blanking of the Sabres on Saturday. Her save percentage for the weekend was .978.

Friday's victory was Carter's 13th of the year, surpassing the previous single-season program record of 12 set by Theresa Taylor in 2002-03 and matched by Stacey Dierking 10 years later. Her 14th win was also her fifth shutout of the season, one more than the previous team mark set by Taylor in 2002-03.

Carter ranks second in the nation this season in winning percentage (.933) and goals against average (1.00) while her .946 save percentage is ninth on the country and shutout total tied-for-seventh. She leads the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association in all four categories.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
