Lake Forest College women's hockey player Olivia Spellmire was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for her performance in her team's three victories in the previous seven days.

Spellmire, a sophomore forward, had seven points on the week, one more than her entire 2014-15 season total. She scored a pair of goals and added an assist in a 9-0 victory over Finlandia University at home on Friday before posting the same stats in a 6-2 triumph over visiting Adrian College, the second-ranked team in the country, the next night. Spellmire finished off the week by assisting on a goal in a 4-1 win Tuesday night at Concordia University Wisconsin.

With 10 points on six goals and four assists this season, Spellmire already has four more points than she recorded as a freshman. Her goal total ranks tied-for-second on the team and her point total is tied-for-fourth.

The Foresters are off to a 7-0-1 start to the year.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletics Department on Thursdays. Spellmire was also named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week and was named to the D3hockey.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.
