Lake Forest College senior goaltender Allie Carter needed just 13 saves on Sunday to post her third shutout in as many appearances this season. The Foresters defeated visiting College of St. Scholastica 3-0 and improved to 4-0-1 on the year.

Carter stopped shots on goal she faced in the opening period, six in the second, and three in the third. She is the first player in program history to record three consecutive shutouts and she now has 36 saves in as many chances this season.

The Foresters put 13 shots on goal in the first period on Sunday but the game was still scoreless after 20 minutes of play.

All three goals in the contest were scored in the second, beginning with a power play score by senior forward Michelle Greeneway 55 seconds into the period. Her team-high fifth goal of the year was assisted by fellow senior forward Holly Lesperance and sophomore defenseman Kayla Griffith.

Senior forward Melissa Paluch matched Greeneway with her fifth score of the season just 82 seconds later. Paluch's fourth goal of the three-game week was set up by freshman forward Julianne Mauriello.

Greeneway regained the team lead in goals at the 6:02 mark of the second period. Her 76th career goal was assisted by freshman forward Amy Budde and moved her into a tie for 18th place in NCAA Division III women's hockey history. She is the division's active leader in that category.

The Foresters out-shot the Saints 40-13 in the contest and have put 228 shots on goal to their opponents 77 in five games this season.

Lake Forest improved to 2-0-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Scholastica fell to 1-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the league.

The Foresters will continue conference play against visiting Finlandia University Friday at 4:00 p.m. and against Adrian College Saturday night at 7:00.
