The Forester women's hockey team tied visiting College of St. Scholastica 2-2 Friday night. Lake Forest senior defenseman Erin Shamley scored the game's first goal and assisted on the final score late in the contest.

Shamley's power play goal at the 11:06 mark of the opening period was her first score of the season. She was assisted by senior forwards Morgan Pope and Laura Reckdenwald.

Lake Forest out-shot the Saints 7-5 in the first period and led 1-0 when the buzzer sounded. The Foresters had an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal in the second but St. Scholastica scored the only goal of the period while on the power play at 6:50.

The visitors took the lead at the 12:44 mark of the third period and were attempting to clear the zone less than five minutes later when Shamley stopped the puck and sent it forward to sophomore forward Allie Girard, who blasted into the goal just beneath the crossbar for the tying score. It was Girard's first goal of the season.

The Foresters put 13 shots on goal in the third period to the Saints' seven. The home team had the only three shots on goal in the 5-minute overtime period.

Lake Forest junior goaltender Allie Carter finished with 14 saves on the night.

The Foresters are now 3-3-1 overall and in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this season. St. Scholastica is 5-1-1, overall and in the league. The same two teams will face off again in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon at 4:00.
