The Lake Forest College women's hockey team defeated visiting St. Norbert College 5-1 Friday night. Forester senior forward Morgan Pope recorded a career-high four points in the game on two goals and two assists.

Pope started the scoring at the 10:42 mark of the second period and was assisted by fellow senior forwards Emily Wybo and Laura Reckdenwald. Pope and Wybo then set up Reckdenwald's first score of the season at 17:10.

The Foresters outshot their guests 21-12 through two periods but led just 2-0 with 20 minutes to play.

Lake Forest freshman Amanda Brunges netted her first career goal at the 4:55 mark of the third period. Junior forward Holly Lesperance assisted on the score. Wybo extended the lead to four goals with her first of the season at 7:27. The shorthanded score was set up by Pope and sophomore forward Isabel Regine. After St. Norbert scored a power play goal at 8:57, the Foresters regained their four-goal advantage on Pope's second score of the night and third this season just 66 seconds later. Reckdenwald earned her second assists of the night on the play.

The Green Knights had a 13-7 edge in shots on goal in the final period but Lake Forest junior goaltender Allie Carter made 12 saves in the period and 24 on the night to secure the victory. It was her first win as a Forester and the fourth against just one loss in her career.

Lake Forest is now 1-2-0 on the season with all three games against Northern Collegiate Hockey Association opponents. It was the NCHA opener for St. Norbert, which fell to 2-1-0 overall.

The same two teams will face off again in Alumni Memorial Field House Saturday night at 7:00.
