Lake Forest Falls in Back-and-Forth Affair at Adrian

The Forester women's hockey team out-shot Adrian College 33-11 but dropped a 3-2 decision on the road Sunday afternoon. Lake Forest senior forward Morgan Pope's power play goal in the second period gave the visitors a 2-1 lead they were unable to hold.

Pope's first score of the season was assisted by junior defenseman Alex Stensland at the 11:56 mark of the second period. The Foresters began the period traliing 1-0 but junior forward Michelle Greeneway's first goal of the year at 4:49 tied the score. Greeneway was assisted by fellow junior forward Melissa Paluch.

The Bulldogs tied the game on a power play goal at 13:45 in the second and converted another power play opportunity at4:18 in the third. The Foresters put 14 shots on goal to Adrian's 2 in the final 20 minutes but were unable to come back again.

Adrian swept the two game series to open the season.

Lake Forest will play its home opener against St. Norbert College next Friday night at 7:00. Saturday's game between the same two teams will also begin at 7:00 p.m.
