Michelle Greeneway and Alex Stensland Named All-American by AHCA

The 2014 CCM Division III Women's Hockey All-American Teams were released on Thursday Lake Forest College sophomores Michelle Greeneway and Alex Stensland made the list.

Greeneway, a forward, was named to the West First Team after earning Second Team honors a year ago. She currently leads the nation with a school record 29 goals and ranks tied-for-fourth in the country with 40 points. Greeneway's season totals also include nine power play goals, a pair of short-handed scores, five game-winners, and four hat tricks. She recorded at least one point in 16 consecutive appearances from November 8 through February 8 and in 20 of 25 games overall. She is the first player in program history to earn All-American honors twice.

Stensland, a defenseman, earned West Second Team All-American honors after finishing the season with 21 points on three goals and 18 assists. She ranks seventh in the nation in points per game by a defenseman and 17th among all players in assists per contest. Stensland also led Lake Forest with a +26 plus/minus rating.

Greeneway and Stensland were also named All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association on February 25 and were two of seven players from the league to be named All-American. Greeneway was the fifth All-American in team history last year and Stensland is the sixth. The list now includes an entire starting lineup with three forwards (Greeneway, Courtney DeHoey in 2007, Kim Herring in 2010), two defensemen (Stensland, Courtney Bean in 2010), and a goaltender (Sally Bevis in 2007).
