The Forester women's hockey team was defeated 8-2 at the College of St. Scholastica Saturday afternoon. Lake Forest junior forward Marissa Weber scored to cut the Saints' lead to 2-1 in the first period but the home team pulled away with six unanswered goals.

Weber's score at the 8:20 mark was her second of the season. St. Scholastica regained its two-goal advantage on a short-handed goal just 43 seconds later and led 3-1 at the end of the opening period.

The Saints extended their lead on a power play goal at the 14:08 mark of the second period and additional tallies at 16:38 and 17:16 to make the score 6-1 at the second intermission.

After two more goals by the Saints, Forester sophomore forward Michelle Greeneway netted the final score of the day with 3:51 to play in the contest. Her team-high ninth goal of the year was assisted by fellow sophomore forward Melissa Paluch.

Lake Forest fell to 3-3-2 on the season, both overall and in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. St. Scholastica, ranked seventh in the nation by D3hockey.com, is now 6-0-2 overall and 5-0-1 in league action.

The Foresters will not play next weekend and will resume conference play December 6-7 at Finlandia University. The teams will face off Friday at 4:00 p.m. (EST) and again Saturday at noon.
