D3hockey.com Names Michelle Greeneway All-Region and All-American

D3hockey .com released its All-Region and All-American teams on Tuesday and Lake Forest College's Michelle Greeneway was the only freshman to make any of the lists.

Greeneway, a forward, was a First Team All-West Region selection and an Honorable Mention All-American choice by the website. She led the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with 23 goals and tied for fourth in the league with 35 points. She ranked seventh in the nation with 1.40 points per game and third with 0.92 goals per contest. She had more points and goals than any other rookie in the nation and was the only freshman listed on either of D3hockey.com's All-Region teams.

Lake Forest won a team record 12 consecutive games from December 8 through February 5 and Greeneway tallied 26 points on 17 goals and nine assists during the streak. She scored four game-winning goals during that span and her five game-winners on the year ranked tied-for-fifth in the country.

Greeneway also earned Second Team West All-American honors from CCM and the American Hockey Coaches Association. She is the fifth All-American in program history.

The 2012-13 Foresters posted a 15-7-4 overall record and a mark of 12-4-4 in NCHA play, good for third place in the conference standings.
